carpenters vs. garden

May 31, 2010 at 9:57 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

For completely unfanthomable reasons, the carpenters hired to fix a structural problem tore out my perennial garden. Picture above shows what they left.

I replanted the front 2/3rds today with annuals: snapdragons, impatiens, teensy groundcover, and dusty miller.    There is a new blue species geranium just before the hosta.

I planted seeds in the remaining bare 1/3 : dianthus (spring beauty), aquilegia, and wildflower seeds that I had saved from last year from the part of the garden now torn out.  I would be very happy if they germinate and take root.
